Founded in 2005 by Mestre Bola, Capoeira Camará is much more than just a capoeira academy—it’s a global community united by the spirit of camaraderie, which we believe is the most important aspect of this vibrant art form. The name “Camará,” meaning “Comrade,” reflects our commitment to mutual respect, teamwork, and the celebration of Capoeira’s rich history, music, and movement.
At Capoeira Camará, we follow the “Contemporânea” style of capoeira, which blends elements of both Regional and Angola, while also focusing on developing strength, balance, and fluid movement. This approach is seen by many as the natural evolution of capoeira, bridging tradition with innovation in every class.
But the true essence of capoeira goes beyond the classroom. We believe that the deepest learning happens when you play capoeira with others, both inside and outside your group. We regularly host events and Rodas, inviting capoeiristas from other places to share their knowledge, and we encourage our students to participate in seminars and gatherings worldwide. Capoeira Camará students have traveled to many countries, expanding their skills and building global connections through this art form.
Today, Capoeira Camará has grown into a worldwide network with academies in Canada, Brazil, Bermuda, Ireland, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Russia, Japan, and Ukraine. Each location carries the energy and spirit of an art that connects cultures and people in a truly unique and engaging way.
If you’re looking for more than just a martial art—if you want to experience a culture, travel the world, and become part of a global community—Capoeira Camará is the place for you. Come discover how this journey can transform your body, mind, and spirit!
